Home Pro Plumber Provides Drain & Sewer Line Repairs & Replacements.
If your home was built before 1975, it likely has cast-iron sewer lines under the home. Cast-iron rusts from the inside toward the outside, and has roughly a 50-year lifespan.
Homes built before 1975 have clay sewer lines in the lawn. Clay lines leak a little at their connections and can attract tree roots from any tree visible from where the sewer lines are located. It not kept cleared, tree roots enter at a connection and continue to grow until they clog or damage the clay pipe.
Water Heater Repair or Replacement
When you call Home Pro Plumber, our team of experts will advise you on whether a repair or replacement is best for your specific situation. We will also guide you on best maintenance practices for avoiding problems in the future.
What are Common Water Heater Problems?
No hot water. If the water heater is putting out very little hot water, the problem may be simple. The thermostat might need to be turned up. However, we suggest not going over the recommended temperature. On gas units, the pilot light must be inspected to ensure it is working properly; the thermocouple may need to be replaced. However, if the pilot light turns off each time it’s lit, the unit has a faulty pilot control valve. On electric water heaters, the problem may involve a faulty electrical heating element.
Rust colored water. Rust colored water coming out of your faucets occurs if the anode rod becomes faulty. This rod is necessary because it dissolves and stops rust from generating in the tank. Whenever the anode rod fails to operate, rust will display in the tank, and the rod will need to be replaced.
Foul odors. Some problems, however, will not affect how a unit operates. For example, you may smell a foul odor coming from your hot water supply. The smell is due to bacteria growth. Usually, this bacteria produces a rotten egg smell. A water heater contains hydrogen gas, and the bacteria feeds on this gas. Preventing this problem is tough because the anode rod generates the hydrogen gas.
Odd Noises. A noisy, hot water heater could be the symptom of many issues. The most likely issue is sediment settling at the bottom of the tank and being burned by the heating element, or the heating element is starting to burn out.
Why is Regular Maintenance So Important?
A basic water heater will provide several years of use. You can expect a well-maintained water heater to last about 10-15 years, depending on the type of unit you have (gas or electric). Water heaters’ lifespan depends on your water.
However, various issues can decrease a unit’s overall efficiency, which is why regular maintenance is essential.
Besides maintenance, other factors can also affect a unit’s longevity: the level of installation, the unit’s design, and the general weather condition.
How Can You Avoid Future Problems?
If your unit has basic problems, such as an inefficient heating element, buying a new unit is not recommended. Our technicians can easily repair the heating element or replace the component.
Total unit replacement is only recommended if it has a severe problem that cannot be repaired, such as a leaking or corroded tank.

Tank Water Heaters:
We Install Only One Premium Brand Of Water Heater: Rheem Professional Grade.
What is Special About Rheem Professional Grade?
Water heaters begin to leak because the steel water tank corrodes over time and pin-holes form.
All water heaters have a glass lining which protects the tank from corrosion. All liners fail over time, allowing water to get to the steel tank. Rheem Professional Grade water heaters have a thicker glass lining and baked These factors make the liner last longer.
All water heaters have one Anode Rod. This rod starts to attract the corrosion (caused by the water) which minimizes the tank corrosion after the glass liner fails. Rheem Professional Grade has one Anode Rod with an optional port for a second rod.
The Anode Rod, made of magnesium, corrodes easier than steel. Therefore, protecting the steel tank.
This rod’s purpose is to extend the life of the water heater’s steel tank by providing a place for corrosion to occur instead of the steel tank. Magnesium is weaker than steel, so it attracts the corrosion instead of the steel water tank.

Or, you can purchase the sink yourself and we will install it for you. Many counter tops installers won’t install the new sink unless they have a Plumber’s License. We can install your new sink as soon as the counters are installed. Most existing sinks are two-bowl, drop-in style. If you want to update to a more stylish or functional sink, the plumbing may need to be altered to align with the new sink’s drain(s).

You can also purchase the toilet yourself and have us install it for you. If you are remodeling your bathroom, or having a new floor installed, many contractors won’t install the new toilet unless they have a Plumber’s License. We can install your toilet as soon as the remodel or floor installation allows.
Toilets installed before 1/1/1994 use as much as 6 gallons of water per flush. The current federal standard is 1.6 gallons per flush (GPF) which became effective on 1/1/1994.
Replacing a water wasting toilet with a new 1.6 GPF toilet reduces water usage by up to 70% per flush! Your new toilet will pay for itself over time.
Home Pro Plumber Provides Camera Scoping For Drains & Sewer Lines.
It’s not always obvious why a sewer line is draining slowly or clogged. This is often due to sludge collecting along the outer edges of the pipe. This requires sewer line cleaning to remove the sludge. Sometimes there is failure or damage within the sewer line. To diagnose the problem, a camera is sent down the sewer line to determine where & what the problem is.
Common Reasons For Sewer Line Back-Up:
- The clog is due to something flushed down a toilet that a sewer line cannot accommodate.
- Tree roots have entered the line in the lawn. If there is leakage from the line, it attracts tree roots. Left unchecked, the roots will clog or damage the line. Homes built before 1975 often have clay sewer lines in the lawn. Clay lines often leak at little at connections.
- Sewer Line Failure. This can be due to aging and wear & tear. Cast-iron sewer lines (used in homes built before 1975) rusts from the inside toward the outside. Solid sewage can catch on the rust.
Sewer Line Dislocation: DFW is built on Expansive-Clay Soil. When the clay gets wet, it expands in size. When the clay dries out, it shrinks. This can cause a sewer line in the lawn to rise & lower, sometimes dislocating a section of sewer line.
If you are facing a slow or clogged drain, or a sewer back-up (that has stopped everything from draining) call us right away. We will quickly determine the cause of the back-up and inform you of what is needed to return the sewer line to proper operation.
Home Pro Plumber Provides Slab Leak Detection & Repair.
The corners and edges of slab foundations move up & down with changes in soil-moisture. The most common slab leak is due to cracked copper water pipes, resulting from slab movement. Slab leaks can also occur as copper water lines degrade and pin-holes form due to corrosion.
Home Pro Plumber Provides Repairs & Replacement Of Water Lines. We will detect where the slab leak is located, then we tunnel under the home to do the repairs.
